1916 discussion and debate at University of Edinburgh
The University of Edinburgh’s Modern Irish History Department will hold a series of commemorative events to mark the centenary of the 1916 Easter Rising in 2016. The programme, supported by the Irish Government, will include a film series exploring the events of 1916 and their legacy at Edinburgh’s Filmhouse.
The University will also organise a number of public lectures on the international impact of the Rising, as well as a seminar on James Connolly, the famous signatory who was born and bred in Edinburgh.
