Doing Business with Ireland
The Embassy of Ireland in Finland works closely with Irish state agencies to promote trade, tourism and investment. We also work with local business groups.
The Embassy works closely with the Irish State Agencies, Bord Bia (the Irish Food Board), Enterprise Ireland, IDA Ireland and Tourism Ireland to:
- Support Irish companies who want to access the Finnish market
- Provide general advice on doing business locally, and through our network of contacts, pursue opportunities that will benefit Ireland
- Work to secure market access for Irish products in key sectors
- Promote Ireland as a location for tourism and for investment
We work closely with these key Irish state agencies to promote trade, tourism and inward investment.
We also work closely with two key business groups in Finland:
The Irish Business Club Finland was established in 1989. Its business concept is to promote and develop commercial and business connections between Ireland and Finland. It organizes events to provide an interesting forum for business person to person contacts, which are key for creating new ideas and opportunities.
The Irish Finnish Business Network
Established in 2014, this new network is made up both Irish and Finnish professionals from a wide range of sectors. There are several subgroups as follows: ICT, Construction/Architecture, Food and Drink, Tourism, Business Services, Retail, Energy/Chemicals/Cleantech, Agriculture/Forestry, Regional Development.
For more information about the Network and how to join, please contact the Embassy.
In addition the Embassy supports the Linkedin group Irish Professionals Nordic Network.
The Irish Professionals Nordic Network (IPNN) was established in 2009 to support Irish professionals across the Nordics in engaging with one another and to foster stronger business links between Ireland and Finland.
The network has approximately 800 members, representing diverse industrial and commercial sectors e.g. technology, banking, food products, property, and pharmaceuticals.
Membership is open to individuals and companies with business/education links between the Nordic countries and Ireland or those interested in exploring new opportunities in this area, and where membership would benefit the work or study being undertaken in Ireland, Denmark, Finland, Norway or Sweden.
As well as providing an online forum for personal and business contacts, there are networking events and useful discussions held. For more information on these, see the network's discussion page on LinkedIn.
Those interested in joining should request membership directly on LinkedIn and include a message outlining how they meet the criteria for membership.
For more information on any of the above please contact us.
