Tourism is a very important industry for Ireland.

Ireland remains a popular tourist location with 7.6 overseas tourist visits in 2014. It is one of the fastest growing sectors within the Irish economy, which is estimated to be worth almost €4 billion each year.

In 2014 the Embassy issued over 5,000 visas to Turkish passport holders, a large number of which were tourist visas. There are direct flights operated by Turkish Airlines between Istanbul and Dublin, twelve to fourteen times per week. There are also flights by Aer Lingus from Izmir during the summer.

Ireland's main tourist attractions includes its rich cultural heritage, scenery, friendly people and relaxed way of life. It is also a popular location for sporting enthusiasts with numerous golf courses in addition to fishing, cycling, riding, water sports and other activities.
