Our Services
Please note that the Honorary Consulate of Ireland, Kyiv, permanently closed on 30 September 2021. Consular matters since then have been covered solely by the Embassy of Ireland in Ukraine. To get in touch with us in relation to consualr queries, please our contact form.
Passports
Please note that passport renewals must be done online. We cannot accept paper renewal applications.
Please note that all diplomatic bag and passport delivery services to Ukraine have been suspended due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Therefore, those in Ukraine wishing to renew their Irish passports must apply online and choose to have their passports delivered to an Irish address, or to an Irish Embassy in another country other than Ukraine.
As first-time passport applications in Ukraine must be in paper form, but both incoming and outgoing diplomatic mail remain suspended in Ukraine due to the war, unfortunately the Embassy cannot facilitate first-time passport applications at this time.
Visas for Ireland
Due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, visa requirements for Ukrainians to travel to Ireland for stays of up to 90 days have been waived. Additionally, Ukrainians who were ordinarily resident in Ukraine on 24 February 2022 may avail of the EU's Temporary Protection Directive in Ireland, granting them the right to stay in Ireland for one year (renewable), and to work, access education, healthcare, accommodation, and other social benefits. Please see here for more information.
It is not possible to apply for an Irish visa in Ukraine at the moment as VFS Kyiv, our visa facilitation partner in Ukraine (visa application centre), is currently closed until further notice. If you need a visa, you must instead submit supporting documentation directly to the Department of Justice’s visa office in Dublin, or via an Embassy of Ireland in another country. You can also contact the Department of Justice’s dedicated email address for Ukrainian visa applicants here: ukrainevisa@dfanet.ie
The Department of Justice website contains useful information about visa and immigration processes and requirements.
Please note that if you are a citizen of a non-EU country, whether you need a visa or not, you will be subject to immigration control when you enter Ireland.
