The Irish Consulate hosted a reception for members of the Texas House of Representatives and the Texas State Senate on February 5, 2019 to mark the beginning of the 86th legislative session.
Texas is one of four U.S. states where the state legislature meets every second year. The 86th Legislative Session began on 8 January, 2019 and is due to end on 27 May, 2019.
Consul General welcomed a delegation of Texas Senators and Representatives to the Consulate for an evening of Irish music, culture and food.
The event celebrated the deep political and economic relations between Texas and Ireland and included performances by the Inisfree School of Irish Dance and musicians Thomas Grauzer and Chris Buckely.
