Role: Finance and Admin Coordinator, Embassy of Ireland

Our mission is to promote and protect abroad the values, interests and economic well-being of Ireland and its people. We do this under the direction of our Ministers, through our staff at home and through our Embassy network abroad. 

The Embassy is recruiting for the position of Finance and Admin Coordinator. This key position requires excellent attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to compliance. The role will involve the provision of financial coordination in the Embassy and general administrative support. Please note however that the specific role profile of the successful candidate will be determined based on the business needs of the Embassy and may change as required. Flexibility and willingness to adapt are therefore essential.

Role:

  • Financial coordination of the Embassy’s accounts, managing funds and compliance requirements and general administration support; 
  • Liaising with Embassies in the region, Department of Foreign Affairs headquarters, other Irish government departments/agencies and with New Zealand-based organisations in delivery of responsibilities;
  • Assistance in all other areas of the Embassy’s work as required. 

Essential requirements candidates must be able to demonstrate:

  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • A minimum of five years of financial coordination or accountancy experience
  • An undergraduate degree
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Excellent Organisational Skills;
  • Excellent Management & Delivery of Results;
  • Computer literacy skills, working knowledge of Excel preferable;
  • The successful candidate must have a legal entitlement to live and work in New Zealand prior to recruitment

Desirable requirements:

  • Irish, Te Reo and/or Pacific languages ability

Terms and conditions of employment:

  • The successful candidates will be hired on a fixed term contractual basis and will be based in the Embassy of Ireland, Wellington.
  • Salary details will be made available on request. Salaries are paid direct to a bank account and therefore the successful candidate must have a bank account.

Selection Process:

  • Depending on the number of applications received, a short-listing of candidates to be called for interview may be undertaken based on the essential/key requirements above.
  • It is planned that interviews will be held by video conferenced before Friday 18th December.
